Intourist Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan
In creating the interiors of this new hotel in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, MKV Design paid tribute to the city’s former Intourist Hotel. However, its successor has a narrative which is clearly its own, belonging to the vibrant and successful city that is Baku today.
Jackson Daly worked closely with architect and interior with a combined vision to create a hotel that was glamorous, contemporary and intimate in ambience. Allusions to the 20th Century heyday of its predecessor infuse the design but never overwhelm it. The hotel is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.
Intourist Hotel in Baku features stainless steel guestroom numbers and directional signage. Copper and stone signage is applied to the ground floor and spa signage.
